Jasna Polana Wedding of Sarah + Glenn 12.06.08 (Part 1)

I adore photographing weddings at Jasna Polana. It’s my favorite venue in the Princeton area. I feel like I’m transported to Europe, and rightly so, as much of the iron and brickwork was brought over from Europe. Though Sarah and Glenns wedding was not held at Jasna they chose to have their wedding portraits taken there as her father is a lucky member of their internationally known PGA golf club. Sarah wore a beautifully classic Vera Wang gown paired with platform Jimmy Choo shoes. The grounds of Jasna Polana were so gorgeous it really did not matter that it was a very chilly winter day. Stay tuned for their beautiful Princeton ceremony and reception.

Marissa + Justin

Marissa and Justin braved the frigid New Jersey air for an engagement portrait session but they managed to keep each other warm. Though their beautiful wedding is not until October of 2009 they wanted an image for a “Save the Date” card to send out to everyone. I’m not going to disclose any more details until their card is out but here are a few of my favorites for their cards!

Jessica + Billy 11.29.08

I knew that Jessica was a woman who loves her bling when I saw her pair of Rene Caovilla shoes. I consider Rene Caovilla shoes more foot jewelry than shoes and if you check out her web site you will see why. Bling! Like me, Jessica was obviously a fan of Maria Elena Headpieces. She bought quit a few for her day. I’m giving her the award for the most unique use of head pieces. She wore a Swarovski Crystal headband around her waist (not to self: must have very tiny waist to do this)! She also wore a Swarovski Crystal wrap for a bun around her wrist. I loved the creativity! We were off early in the morning to the Brooklyn Bridge Park for couple pictures. We started taking wedding portraits at the Tobacco Warehouse which is located in the park and then we went on to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Their beautiful and classic ceremony and reception was at Russos on the Bay in Queens, NY.

The First Chapter

The main focus of my life and work is wedding photography, as in photographing weddings. I really don’t have much time left for public speaking or writing for photographers. Maybe someday I’ll have the time! I was so honored with Bob Coated came to me and asked that I write a chapter of his book, “A Photographers Guide to Wedding Album Design and Sales“. Though I’ve had many articles written about me and my work in professional photography publications, this is my first chapter. Yeah!!! I was so honored when I received a copy of the book and there was my chapter along with the chapters of some of the wedding photographers who were my inspiration when I was growing into my style. It felt good to be in a book along with Joe Buissink, Yervant and Kevin Kubota. All have given me parts of my style and hopefully my chapter will give some photographer somewhere a little bit of inspiration.
