November 8, 2010 On the side...

Not a wedding, but an outstanding visual moment none the less! I was thrilled that Kathy Warden of Table Art asked me to come by the Philadelphia Museum of Art to photograph this event. I had no idea the beauty I was in for. The evening was about Starr Event’s celebration as the exclusive caterer for The Philadelphia Art Museum. I must say Kathy gets the award for most creative use of Chinese Lanterns. The room was just aglow! The phenomenal lighting was provided by Eventions Productions, I wish I had a video. The lighting moved in a pattern of waves on a pool of water. Gorgeous! The outstanding food was served by Starr Events, which is always a treat for me

The ballroom at the Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia was all aglow with the warm colors of fall. Ilonka Floral Decorator provided the beautiful florals for the day. Sara of Beautiful Blooms Events not only assisted with all the decor and planning of the day but also made sure the day ran so very smoothly. Check out the popcorn treats for the guests. A perfect ending foe this “leading couple”.

Katie and Brendan were married at the gorgeous Saint Patrick’s Church in Philadelphia. It’s only a block away from the Rittenhouse Hotel were the couples reception was being held. The guests were led by a bagpiper to the hotel while Katie and Brendan to a Rolls-Royce. We stopped off for a few more “post-wedding” portraits at Panama street, a very “old Philly” little path, on our way to The Rittenhouse.

I was transported back to London when I saw this beautiful hat. All the ladies there would not think of attending a wedding without one!

Katie was definitely “Pretty in Pink”. Her blush gown was custom made for her by Darcy Law. The delicate organza definitely reminded me of classic gowns from the 1950’s. Her lacy blush color shoes were by Stuart Weitzman were a perfect match. Movie couples were the theme of their wedding. Katie’s parents named her after the great Katharine Hepburn so the couple wanted to bring that into their wedding, starting with their invitation and Save the Dates. After preparing at her parents home, Katie drove with er father to Rittenhouse Square for some pre-wedding portraits with her family and bridal party.

I was so excited to see some beautiful bouquets and centerpieces that I photographed for Donn O’Brien of Beautiful Blooms were featured on The wonderful Style Me Pretty Blog today! It’s always an honor. I had great fun photographing there very creative pieces with Donna on a crispy autumn day. You can see them all on Style Me Pretty today!
