Lucia

I know I tell my couples that I usually don’t do baby portraits. It’s a beautiful skill, but I’m so busy with my weddings I usually do not have the time. When one of my former couples, Tara and Phillip asked me to photograph their 11 month old daughter Lucia I thought I would give it a try as the azaleas were in full bloom at the little park near my studio. She was such a delight and I smile every time I look at her sweet portraits. I think just might reconsider the baby portraits. It was a joy!

Bonnet Island Wedding – Karen + Grant 04.24.10 Part 2

The boat house at Bonnet Island is one of the most country charming places for a wedding ceremony. It needs very little in decor, but the flowers by MDS Floral were beautiful. Karen and Grant broke with all tradition in their reception. There was no wedding cake to cut and they decided not to do a “first dance”! The just joined their guests in a dance and the party went on all evening long!

Bonnet Island Wedding – Karen + Grant 04.24.10 Part 1

It was so wonderful to be back for a wedding at Bonnet Island Estate. It’s one of the most beautiful New Jersey beach locations. Karen and Grant could not have been luckier with the weather on their April wedding day. They planned the timing of their portraits perfectly. The beautiful blue sky’s clouded over just as we finished. The color of the day was lilac and was beautiful depicted in flowers by Michelle of MDS Floral. Check back for their beautiful boat house ceremony!

Josephine + Danny 04.23.10

It’s not often I have the opportunity to photograph smaller weddings. I just loved the casual and relaxed feel of Josephine and Danny’s wedding, and though I was there for only 3 hours, it was full of love and romance. Breaking with tradition, Josephine wore a beautiful golden suit. Combined with a lovely feathered birdcage veil and mesh Louboutin shoes, she had a very sweet retro look. Loved it! Their ceremony took place at the historic Old Saint Joseph’s Church in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia. It’s such a wonderful part of town that we did not need to go far for pretty locations for their romantic couple portraits. Their intimate reception took place in the wine cellar of La Famiglia, with beautiful flowers and decor by Beautiful Blooms.

Baby Shower Featured on Hostess Blog

Oh baby, what a shower! Last month I had the treat of photographing one of the most incredible and creative baby showers ever! It’s just a treasure trove of ideas for a baby shower and I’m sure it will inspire everyone. The event was created by Melissa Paul of Evantine Design and its being featured on the “Hostess With the Mostess” blog this week. In the posts on HWTM, Melissa shares with us her inspiration and all the many inventive details that went into the shower. There are so many details it’s a 3 part story. So far 2 have been featured. The guests were treated to a beauty bar, a sugar bar and of course, a real bar. One of my favorites, ice water served in baby bottles! Too cute! You can check out Melissa’s story in Part 1 and Part 2. The shower took place at a very urban chic Star Restaurant space in Philadelphia called Washington Square and the catering by Stephen Starr Events was as creative as Melissa’s details. Check out the mini grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters! This was one lucky mother and baby!
