Lisa + Richard 04.10.10 The Reception

Lisa and Richard planned a reception for their guests that would be a feast for all their senses! The room was just stunning with the flowers and décor by Beautiful Blooms and the magnificent lighting by Eventions Productions The hanging candles that lit the ceremony added to the ambiance of the ballroom at One Atlantic. Providing the feast for the pallet was Peachtree & Ward Catering. I particularly loved the cigar box presentation. The couple wanted the evening to be filled with pleasurable entertainment for their guests. They had a strolling electric violist, a man performing in a weather balloon, Vegas style showgirls dancing with guests, a man on stilts, and let’s not forget a Neil Diamond impersonator. The great entertainment was provided by Smash Party Entertainment! If you would like to see more of this wedding it’s actually going to be featured this Friday on the new TLC program “Four Weddings”. I’ve never photographed a “TV” wedding before and it was definitely tricky with all the cameras. The show is set up air this Friday at 10PM so make sure to set you DVR’s! I do hope I’m not in any of the footage. I hate to be photographed….. that’s why I’m a photographer!

Lisa + Richard 04.10.10

I’m excited to share with you one of New Jerseys newest venues for weddings and events. One Atlantic is located on a pier on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. Talk about views! The venue is actually over the Atlantic Ocean! Lisa and Richard fell in love with this beautiful site and want to share it with all their guests on their wedding day. Lisa wore a very elegant gown by Amy Michelson which was perfectly fitted by Kleinfelds of New York. Their ceremony took place at sunset over the ocean lit by hundreds of candles. Beautiful Blooms of Philadelphia created the magical ambiance of the room. If you think the ceremony looks special, wait until you see the reception! Beautiful and totally “entertaining”.

Jill + Peter Featured in Philadelphia Magazine Online

Congratulations to Jill and Peter on the beautiful feature of their September 2009 wedding on Philadelphia Magazine Online, and what a spectacular wedding it was. The Union League was all aglow with the magnificent styling and decor by Lynda Barness of I Do Wedding Consulting and Nancy Saam Floral Design. I was so happy to see this wedding featured. You can read all about their special day at this link.

Can I have a little light?

I finally shot my first wedding of the season last weekend. I can’t wait to share it with you. I was a very amazing event at the brand new venue One Atlantic in Atlantic City. In the meantime, while I’m feverishly working my magic, I thought I’d share with you some of my stock images of amazing lighting. Photography is basically capturing light. If there is no light there is nothing to capture. As a photographer I am always looking for good light. Of course, there is nothing I love more than beautiful long tables set up in a shaded glen, but in the northeast very few are willing to take that sort of chance. Here are a few examples of very grand lighting. It’s probably one of the least expensive additions you can do to create a very grand effect!

This wedding had a lovely orange pattern cast on the ceiling of the tent

This tent was all aglow with a red dance floor and yellow ceiling

The Franklin Institute comes with it’s own lighting package. I loved the cloud effect on the rotunda!

This is at Capitale in NYC. The same room was used for the next image. Lighting can totally change the feeling of your room.

The decor was mostly white but the pink lighting changes everything.

The pink became more intense as night fell.

Alexandra + John

Ali and John were up from Pensacola, Florida, where John is training as a pilot, and found time for a little engagement session. Due to the long and snowy winter, things have not turned green yet in the Northeast but we did find a lovely bed of daffodils! They will be back when things are green in September for a beautiful wedding at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. Congratulations Ali and John!
