WPJA Winning Image

The results for the Wedding Photojournalists Association, WPJA 2010 Q4 photo contest have just been announced and Bubble Boy was a winner. This marked my 26th win in this prestigious competition. The Wedding Photojournalists Association is a professional organization composed of wedding photojournalists from around the world. I always feel incredibly honored to have placed among some of the best photojournalists around the world.

The Tropicana

And what would a trip be to Havana be without a trip to the famed open air nightclub, The Tropicana! I felt like I was back in time, a real 1940’s review! You can see this show was a precursor to the Vegas shows, but with it’s lack of special effects and more sedate costumes, there was such a real sweetness to it. I thought I’d share a few images to get you in a little Latin mood for the weekend!

Goodbye Snow!

There is nothing as beautiful as that first delicate snowfall of the season, but I think most people in the US will agree, we had TOO MUCH SNOW this year. When I left for Cuba my home was all covered with snow and after weeks in balmy 86 degree heat I’ve returned to find my lawn, albeit a little brown. While going through some folders on my computer I found a little “snow shoot” that I did just prior to my vacation. I remember it starting to snow while we were in the woods thinking about warmer day ahead. Beautiful Blooms did the sweet burgundy bouquet. Let’s all say…. goodbye snow….until next year!

AG|WPJA Winning Image

Well, I finally arrived home from my wonderful winter adventure with great news in my email box. One of my favorite images from last year was selected as a winner with the Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association. The AG|WPJA is an worldwide organization that promotes the work of fine art wedding photojournalists. It’s such an honor to have an image chosen! Now, I’m off to work on all those amazing images from Cuba on my “real” computer! Good to be home!!!!!
