Franklin Institute Wedding of Elizabeth + Ryan – 08.25.12

I’ve always known that the rooftop of the Franklin Institute was one of the best locations to photograph my couples with the skyline of Philadelphia. This was the first time one of my couples had their wedding ceremony there. I was in heaven!!! I was a bit concerned as the weather was supposed to be in the 90’s. Sort of hot for a rooftop. But the lucky couple had some clouds roll in and it was a perfect summer afternoon.Florist, Nancy Saam did all the flowers and decor for the ceremony. It was just beautiful! After the ceremony Elizabeth and Ryan went back on the rooftop for a few couple portraits. Breathtaking! Next week I’ll be sharing some images of their beautiful reception!

Elizabeth + Ryan at the Rodin Museum – 08.25.12

Across the street from the Four Seasons Hotel is the Rodin Museum. One of my favorite locations for portraits in Philadelphia, I have been unable to  photograph couples there for the past few years as it has been getting a “facelift” and has been covered with scaffolding. Though some of the scaffolding remains, there was still enough beautiful locations. Elizabeth and Ryan had some fun “thinking” in front of The Thinker. Nancy Saam did all the beautiful bouquets. Wait until you see how she transformed the Franklin Institute!

Philadelphia Wedding of Elizabeth + Ryan – 08.25.12

Well, it’s an honor to be chosen by any of my couples to photograph their day, but when the brides mother and grooms father are professional photographers it’s a really special honor. Artist and wedding photographer, Elizabeth mom arranged so many special details in the room at the Four Seasons Hotel for me. Check out the beautifully embroidered slip that Elizabeth’s mother made for her. I am sure it will be a cherished family keepsake.  So many details. The couples letterpress invitations were by Matthew Kelsey of California. Elizabeth wore a Monique Lhuillier gown perfectly fit by the Bridal Garden. She paired her gown with a perfect pair of green Badgley Mischka shoes. Hair and makeup was by Mackenzie Hughes of Mack Stylist. It was my first time working with her and what beautiful work she does. Ryan prepared for the wedding at the couples apartment in Center City Philadelphia. Joining him was their dog that was unable to attend the ceremony, My second photographer Jill took the most adorable pictures of her. The couple wanted to do their portraits ahead of time so off we went for a “first look”. On the way we stopped for a quick portrait in front of Logan fountain!

Bonnet Island Wedding Reception of Julianne + Ashwin – 08.18.12

As the sun began to set over Barnegat Bay the festivities began at Bonnet Island Estate. Michelle of MDS Floral did a beautiful job transforming the ballroom into a charming country elegant affair. Everyone danced the night away to the tunes of Character Zoo.  The couples friends from Princeton all grouped together for the traditional Princeton group picture. I think Julianne and Ashwin were pretty friendly!
