My New York City engagement portraits are always such fun! I had an extra special time with Liz and Michael as we did some new areas in the city. We met in the west village and just walked around the streets. The couple found their favorite ice cream truck and shared a cone. What fun! To cap off the shoot we went into the subway for some romantic portraits. What perfect “NYC” portraits!
After their ceremony we took a quick drive to Fairmount Park in Philadelphia for some romantic portraits. Often overlooked by photographers, the park has so many “hidden treasures” for portraits and it usually does not have the crowds that the center city parks have. After the portraits we arrived at The Crystal Tea Room for a lovely reception. As always, florist Nancy Saam worked her magic with the flowers and decor. I really loved their grand entrance created by the beautiful draping. 
Monique Lhuillier gown, Christian Louboutin shoes, Chanel bag….. how lucky could one photographer be. Liz had a beautiful Lhuillier sheath gown which she paired with a tulle overlay skirt. It gave a more formal look for their wedding ceremony. Loved it. Talk about romantic guy, in their notes to each other, Peter presented Liz with the movie ticket to the movie they attended on their first date, many years ago! Can you believe he saved it! How romantic. On hand to assist Elizabeth prepare for her day was her mom and wedding planner Melody Appel of Innove Events. It was wonderful working with Melody again! We go back many years and she kept the day running so smoothly. The couple were wed at St. John the Evangelist in Philadelphia, one of Philadelphia’s many beautiful historic churches. Appleford Estate is a historic and beautiful country estate set in the Main Line of Philadelphia and a perfect setting for Julia and Roberts wedding reception. Planning for a warm summer day Julia had cute fans for her guests by bhldn. They shards a private kiss behind the bhldn fan! Ilonka of Ilonka Floral Decorating did a beautiful job with the bouquets and floral decor. The brides mother shared a family tradition of the “Love Feast” cup that the couple share a toast to a wonderful happy marriage! Capping off the evening were some very large extended family portraits. They are always such fun!
It’s the first time I’ve every seen them; the most classic pair of Christian Louboutin wedding shoes. Some of the Louboutins can be very edgy and not well suited for the “Classic” bride, but Julia definitely found her match. I loved the sweetheart neckline and the shoulder straps on her Palazzo gown. Julia and Robert were married at the Church of the Redeemer in Brun Mawr, PA, Julia’s family church. I very beautiful historic church.
